About The Photographer
"Luck Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity" -Seneca (Roman Philosopher)
If there was one thing I could tell you about myself it would be about how much I LOVE photography. Over the years it has become more of an obsession than a hobby, but not quite a profession.
What appeals to me most about photography is it's meditative quality, often found when shooting in silence or the outdoors. The second most appealing quality to me is the fact that a single moment is captured and suspended in time indefenitely. Photography outlives the artist and instantly becomes a historical document of the past. I find photography to be an interesting medium as each photo is as personal, and uniquely created by the artist. When a photo is taken, it's taken by the photographers perspective. A photo is edited to what is most pleasing to the photographer, and there is no right or wrong answer when capturing a subject. Every photographer has their own thumbprint in the editing process, you may have noticed that I like photos that are layered and convey depth. I also like to create surreal images to help the viewer imagine themselves in that one point in time the photograph was created.
My three favorite subjects are landscapes, Black and White Photography, and Macro. I shoot both digital and 120mm film. I enjoy visiting national parks, state parks, and roads less traveled. I currently reside in the incredible state of Colorado which provides a vast amount of photographic subjects, and find myself teaching people how to shoot in manual more often than not.
My interests outside of photography include Computing, Music, and raising my two toddlers with my wife Emily. By day I work in Information Technology and have done so for nine years. If you would like to drop me a line click the below link, and I'll respond ASAP.
